Marriage of Pesach and Tsvia Siporin

Standing l. to r.: Pesach Siporin, Tsvia Siporin, unknown relative. Sitting: Taibel Siporin, her husband Sholem Siporin, with granddaughter Itka in his lap (Shendel's daughter), unknown relative, Shendel's husband.
Taken in 1935 in Remlah. Pesach Siporin married his first cousin Tsvia Siporin in a sham marriage to get Pesach's uncle and family out of Russia. Pesach's family had imigrated to Palestine in 1931. Pesach married Tsvia, returned to Palestine and sent for her parents, Steve Siporin's grandparents. The parents arrived in late 1936. Tsvia and Pesach then divorced and married others. Tsvia's sister Shendl did not go to Israel; she and her 3 children were killed by the Nazis. Her husband escaped and moved to Canada.
